GST Calculator — Calculate GST Amount & Final Price Instantly

Use this GST Calculator to move between tax-inclusive totals and net taxable value, compute GST at any percentage, and preview a clean invoice-style breakdown. Optional India display splits GST into CGST/SGST for common intra-state quoting; inter-state IGST and legal edge cases are called out in the results so you do not confuse display math with compliance advice.

What is GST math here?

GST is a consumption tax expressed as a percent of taxable value. Exclusive mode adds GST on top of the base; inclusive mode treats your input as the total that already contains tax, so the tool backs out the net value. This page focuses on arithmetic and invoice clarity—not filing, HSN mapping, or place-of-supply rules.

Why it matters

  • Quoting “tax included” vs “plus GST” changes the net you keep—mixing the two modes is a common quoting mistake.
  • Rounding to two decimals matches many invoice conventions; you can disable rounding when auditing raw ratios.

GST snapshot

  • Exclusive: GST = base × (rate ÷ 100); total = base + GST.
  • Inclusive: base = amount ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100); GST = amount − base.
  • India split view allocates GST into CGST/SGST halves for illustration; IGST is shown when country is not India.

Reference (modes)

  • Exclusive mode answers “how much tax do I add?”
  • Inclusive mode answers “what is the net if tax is baked in?”
  • Invoice preview mirrors subtotal, rate, GST component, and grand total.

Example conversions

Input Approx. output
Exclusive 10,000 @ 18% GST 1,800 · total 11,800
Inclusive 11,800 @ 18% Base ≈ 10,000 · GST ≈ 1,800

Input rules

  • Amount and GST rate must be non-negative.
  • Mode must be inclusive or exclusive.

How to use GST Calculator

  1. 1 Enter the amount you know (list price or tax-included total).
  2. 2 Set the GST % and choose Exclusive or Inclusive.
  3. 3 Pick country (India vs Other) and B2B/B2C for context labels.
  4. 4 Toggle round-off if you need raw fractions for reconciliation.
  5. 5 Run the tool and read base, GST, totals, CGST/SGST/IGST columns, and the narrative summary.

Formula

  • Exclusive — GST = taxable × (rate ÷ 100); payable = taxable + GST.
  • Inclusive — taxable = total ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100); GST = total − taxable.
  • India display — CGST + SGST ≈ GST (illustrative intra-state); verify IGST vs CGST/SGST with your advisor for inter-state supplies.
